Who We Are

Our Commitments

Our Denominational Affiliation

Immanuel Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (the “PCA”), a denomination birthed in 1973 by a group of churches desiring to recover, uphold, and live out passionate commitments to the authority of the Bible, to the rich theological heritage of the Reformation, and to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ to bring His Gospel to all the nations.  There’s obviously much more that can be said about our denomination and its history, so if you have further questions we recommend that you visit the PCA’s website.  Of course, we will also do our best to answer your questions—just ask!

Our Confessions & Doctrine

In addition to more widely known historic orthodox Christian creeds like The Apostles’ Creed and The Nicene Creed our leadership also subscribes to a set of historic creeds and doctrinal statements known as The Westminster Standards.

There are three leading documents in these Standards:  the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Westminster Shorter Catechism, and the Westminster Larger Catechism

The leadership of Immanuel Presbyterian Church embraces these Standards as faithfully accurate summaries of the Bible’s teaching in the areas and on the subjects they address.  Agreement with these Standards is not required for membership at Immanuel, but it is for those who serve as the church’s officers, ordained as elders or deacons.

We treasure the heritage of Biblical and theological commitments we have received through the Standards, but we neither expect nor insist that everyone agree with our assessment of them.  We tell you about them now because we want you to have an accurate picture of where we stand and what we love.

 What is Reformed Theology?

Our Mission

Responding to, and empowered by, the gracious initiative and commands of the living God, revealed most clearly and completely to the world in Jesus Christ, we believe that Immanuel Presbyterian Church exists to:

"Magnify the fame of Jesus Christ and the power of His Gospel from DeLand to the ends of the earth"

Our Values

By God’s grace, and not in our own strength, we strive in all that we do as a body of Christ’s people to remain faithful to the following core values shape our life together.

The Surpassing Worth of God.  God alone is our supreme value in all things.

The Authority of the Bible.  We joyfully place ourselves under the authority of the Bible as God’s inspired, inerrant, infallible, and infinitely profitable Word for His people.

The Power of the Gospel.  We believe the Gospel is the trustworthy and powerful message of the saving person and work of Jesus Christ.  We cherish this message as the only means by which mankind may be reconciled to God and transformed by Him to live for His glory.

A Passion for Worship.  We will celebrate and commend God’s saving work in Jesus Christ through vibrant, God-centered worship.

A Love for the Lost.  We share our God’s passion for the redemption and recovery of the lost in our world through Jesus Christ.

The Nature of the Church.  We believe that God has appointed and equipped every member as a minister to serve Him in His church.

Our Reformation Heritage.  We treasure the world-transforming truths recovered and advanced through the Reformation.

Serving Our Community.  We are committed to transforming our community and culture through the power of Christ’s Gospel.
